VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

VOLUNTEER FOR Just Teens
Just Teens is open to area students entering grades 8 through 12. Teen board members plan the enormously popular game and craft tents at the annual Ice Cream Social.

Help your community and help yourself: volunteer hours may be an asset on a job or college application, or a requirement for graduation or membership in the National Honor Society.  If you are interested in helping, please contact Youth Services at 262-246-5182.

TECHNICAL SERVICES VOLUNTEERS
The Technical Services Dept. is accepting applications for volunteers who are able to come once a week for 2 hours. If you are interested in helping at the Library, please contact Janet Soofi at 262-246-5180.

ADOPT-A-SHELF
Currently the library needs volunteers to help with the "Adopt-a-Shelf program."  This program involves "adopting" a specific section of books to keep in order.  For any questions about the volunteer program, please contact Janet Soofi at 262-246-5180.

Volunteers currently do the following:

  • prepare materials for shelving by stamping, taping, covering and dating them
  • photocopy frequently used forms
  • type spine labels
  • run the ongoing book sale
  • repair audio and videotapes
  • register children for summer programs
  • keep shelves in order ("Adopt-a-shelf")
