LOOKING FOR A GOOD BOOK TO
READ?
We have several ways
for you to find just what you want!
Check out our Reader’s Advisory shelves, just
to the right of the New Books area. You’ll find many useful guides to
give you ideas. Do you know an author you like but you’ve read all his
works? Look in Genreflecting or What Do I
Read Next? and find out who writes similar novels. Other titles on
those shelves will lead you to books named as favorites by celebrities, books
that have been made into movies, and books read by various book clubs.

NOW AVAILABLE -- BOOKNEWS NEWSLETTERS
We're
excited to unveil BookNews newsletters! This reader's advisory service gives
you access to free electronic newsletters about a wide variety of books. You
can view the lists online or have them delivered directly to your email
address on the 15th of each month.
- The newsletters include reviews, descriptions and author commentaries.
Links within the newsletters take you directly to the CAFÉ catalog, so you
can easily see if a title is available at the Pauline Haass Public Library
or another library in the CAFÉ system. Please contact a reference librarian
at 262-246-5181 for help if you do not find a title that you would like to
read.
See this
month's lists, or sign up now to choose the newsletters you wish to
receive by email. Select lists based on genres, including new fiction, new
non-fiction, mystery, classics, business, home and garden, science fiction
and more!
BookPage is a monthly book-review
newspaper for current titles. You’ll find it on the low tables in
the lounge areas of the library. Pick up a free copy to take home.
If we don’t own a title you see there, ask us to get it for you.
Join Our Online Book Clubs
Receive chapters from popular books
in your daily email. Each day, Monday through Friday, we’ll send you a
portion of a chapter that takes only five minutes to read. After you’ve read
2 or 3 complete chapters from a book, we’ll start sending you a new book. Find out more.
There are also many Internet resources
for finding good books. Here's a list of our favorites. |
