Want to Learn a Foreign Language?
The library now offers two interactive ways to learn foreign languages. Mango Languages is an online language learning system that can help you learn Spanish, Greek, Italian, Japanese and more! Mango is available free at home or in the library to all valid CAFÉ library card holders. Rosetta Stone language courses are available for in-library use. Master Mandarin, French, German and Spanish with this wonderful language program. All languages have three expertise levels that blend oral and written exercises to teach grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. The Rosetta Stone software is available on laptops for use by those ages 14 and older. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult during the language sessions. Learning Express Library offers practice tests, exercises, skill-building courses, and information you need to achieve the results you want—at school, at work, or in life. The Computer Skills Learning Center includes interactive courses on Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Looking to land a job? An entire Learning Center is dedicated to help job seekers. Jobs Network in Sussex
Are you looking for a job, or underemployed? The Next Steps Employment Network meets every Wednesday morning in the library's Quad/Graphics Room from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. If you need tips on resume building, interview skills, or finding the right job, this group is for you. All are welcome at any time; there’s no need to register. The sponsoring organizations will facilitate discussion and networking. These free meetings are sponsored by the Cooperating Churches of Sussex and the Valuing Diversity Task Force, which includes the Hamilton School District, the Pauline Haass Library, Sussex-Area Outreach Services, the Sussex Area Chamber of Commerce, Town of Lisbon, and Village of Sussex. library and holds available for pickup. Due date notices will be sent three
days prior to when your materials are due. Overdue

Visit the Booksale Room
Looking for books to take on a trip... or
read in the tub... or videos to amuse the kids... without costing a
lot? The Booksale Room at the library is the place to shop! The shelves are
filled to overflowing, with something for everyone. Adult paperbacks and
children's books are 25˘ each or 5 for $1. Adult hardcover books are
50˘ each. Used videos, CDs and cassettes are $1 each. The Booksale Room is
open during all library hours and is located near the checkout desk. Shop
now and often! Proceeds from this ongoing sale, which is coordinated
by the Friends of the Pauline Haass Library,
provide continued support by helping fund items not covered in the library's
operating budget.
Renew Items, Check
Due Dates and Place Holds
Visit the catalog which
allows you, in a single search, to see not just our collection, but the
collections of most other public libraries in the county. You can also
review your account to renew, check due dates and place holds. Most of the libraries in
Waukesha County are members of this consortium known as CAFÉ, Catalog
Access for Everyone. Your library card is valid at all CAFÉ libraries. For more

Subscription Databases
Look here for
magazine and newspaper articles, business directories, and other valuable
information. These sites (with the exception of WISCAT) are subscription
databases, meaning that the library system or state has paid for you to access
the site. You will not be able to access some of these sites from your home
computer; they can only be accessed from Internet terminals located in public libraries in Waukesha County.
